1Peter 5 : 5b – 14 / Psalm 89 : 2 – 3, 6 -17 / Mark 16 : 15 – 20

Peter assures the churches he is addressing that even though they are having to suffer for their faith, the Lord ‘will see that all is well again; he will confirm, strengthen and support them’. The Lord is with his struggling churches to keep them faithful to the end.

Again, from the Apostle in his first letter, we are to be calm but vigilant because once we become strong believers, our enemy the devil will recognize us. We don’t need to panic but just resist him strongly in faith and with the knowledge that other believers all over are suffering the same fate. The Christian is the man who trusts but at the same time puts all his effort and all his vigilance into the business of living for Christ.

We celebrate Mark for his role in building the early church, particularly through preaching and documenting the good news. We celebrate him for being a humble companion, a good team player, a passionate preacher, and a prolific writer. Mark faithfully carried out the injunction of Christ: “Go into all the whole world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15).

The gospel mandated the disciples to ‘go into the world and to preach to the whole creation’. Every one of us must partake in this mission one way in or the other. For what we do as (Christians / Catholics) “disciples” could either confirm or invalidate our baptism.

During this period of Easter that, we still reflect on the resurrection of Christ. Let us concentrate on what we do and what we are able to truly execute as a Christian character to people so they realized that we are the people of Christ, a people able to face sufferings, a people able to mingle with one another and to assist one another in our sufferings.

Dear friends, the Lord is always working with us to confirm, strengthen and support us in our efforts to answer his call in today’s world. Can we be as passionate as the evangelist Mark is in preaching and writing about the good news of salvation?

I humbly ask for your prayers for me and a friend Romina as mark today as our Birthday Anniversary. Thank you all for Praying for us and your continues support for me.
